Dena's Poetry: Poetry of Love, Loss, and the Occult
Poetry of Love, Loss, and the Occult
To Emania (Through The Guarded Gate)

Hush now, keep it down
For Eithne is fast approaching.
Emania, Emania
Just up ahead...sssh now...
Sssh...the moon dogs are sleeping.

Do not cry so loudly,
The dogs will attack her
If they are disturbed...it is late, so late,
Others are in their beds--
We mourn her soul's departure.

Eithne, move slowly,
Eithne, move gently.
So light, so ethereal you will float.
The moon dogs guard the gate
To Emania...pass quietly.

We will shed our tears in
Silence, we will bow our heads
In sorrow, we will lift our
Hearts to you in Emania,
The Moon-land, where you will rest.
