Dena's Poetry: Poetry of Love, Loss, and the Occult is Written, Designed, and Maintained by
Dena L. Moore.
Springtide
I rose with thee,
Hand met hand, clasped all the way
Down to the water’s edge…
Sweet, sweet words you whispered
Drifting thistledown on the breeze,
Trailing out behind us as my shawl dances,
A rhythmic movement, a lullabye,
And I wish the moment would never end…
The winter’s cold no longer lingers,
The sheep are shorn in the fields,
The little grebes voices raise in unison -
We move on past, our footsteps audible
Amongst the thick vegetation,
Our passing noted, every step watched, marked
And I stumble -
You are solid, so secure in your step,
I have no doubt you can catch me,
Aye, you’ve already caught me, my love…
