Dena's Poetry: Poetry of Love, Loss, and the Occult is Written, Designed, and Maintained by
Dena L. Moore.
In My House
This is my house.
My house.
You will not leave.
I’ve pressed fingers to skull,
Blade to chest,
Red hot brand to spine.
I’ve meditated,
Chanted,
Summoned spiritual aid.
I’ve cradled lodestone
In bound wrists,
Moonstone betwixt cold lips
In my house.
In my temple,
You reside,
An Emperor on his throne
And I walk quietly
In the dusk, drawing shades.
I’ve kneeled in prayer
Before the altar,
Knees raw as stone.
I’ve kissed the rock,
Shook the chalice,
Collected relics.
I’ve washed feet,
Charged the mojo,
Prepared the feast
In my house.
In my soul,
You linger,
A haunted melody of a promise,
And I stumble blindly
Through each day, in my house.
