Dena's Poetry: Poetry of Love, Loss, and the Occult is Written, Designed, and Maintained by
Dena L. Moore.
Full Desperate Moon
The howling wind can’t take away the mood,
No, the destitute moon rising in my mind -
Drifting silently, waxing full…
Waxing full…treasures flutter in water,
Tangled strands of gold, white woven jewels
Winding pearls, pulling me along,
Tugging me through
Memories better lost, thoughts never entertained -
Jewels…glittering like crystals in dark caverns…
Oh, we both know it is you…
The wind rushes crisply within the hollow you’ve left,
Into the dark valleys of my soul,
Where no one dares to go…no, no one dares to go
Into those depths now…only you…
The river rushes east, carrying away the bittersweet nuggets of gold -
All that’s left is dark water, murky sludge
Protecting what is beneath, what is left within,
Until exposed under the silence of this full desperate moon…
