Dena's Poetry: Poetry of Love, Loss, and the Occult is Written, Designed, and Maintained by
Dena L. Moore.
As Raw as a Soul Could Ever Be
I’m stripped, standing bare,
My eyes closed yet open,
Seeing all there is to see, nothing more,
Nothing less…
My skin, the antennae,
My heart, the conductor,
And I’m naked before you,
As raw as a Soul could ever be,
My breath caught in rhythm
With each sullen, silent tear,
The tears you cannot see, but you feel,
You sense the flow though you cannot halt
The river, you could drown in this sorrow
If you weren’t floundering elsewhere…
But you are,
Naked before me, stripped, raw, bleeding…
I see all there is to see, nothing more,
Nothing less…
Your skin - my skin,
Your heart - my heart,
The quiet ache of your Soul the call,
The sullen, silent tears you won’t allow to fall
Fill up the reservoir, fill the void,
You’re drowning in your sorrow, sorrow I feel,
The flow a deep internal river,
I’m caught in the rushing current,
Floundering, gasping,
Going under…sinking deeper into you.
